Fire season closures have been lifted. 

Effective October 10, 2025, fire season closures that went into effect June 2, 2025, have been lifted.

Debris burning is allowed. If fuels dry out, we ask that you use caution and monitor your burning to ensure you do not have any issues.

Firewood permits on Shanda Timberlands, and the Gilchrist State Forest are now valid. Follow the permit instructions.

For Wagon Trail Ranch, Little River Ranch and Old Howard Estates follow LaPine RFPD burning guidelines.

Fire season requirements for industrial operations are no longer in place and outdoor debris burning is now allowed without a permit. The burning of slash resulting from forest harvesting operations requires a permit year-round.
